ALL ABOUT ME
6th Grade Teacher
I attended the University of California, Davis where I majored in History. I also spent a year abroad at the University of Edinburgh, practicing my best Scottish brogue! I have been teaching for the past 10 years at Hazelton Elementary and have taught as a guest teacher or long term teacher at every grade level. I am so inspired by my students, I love to see them get excited about learning. My father was a teacher for nearly 30 years, I was fortunate enough to teach along side him. Even as a child I found myself begging my dad to be his classroom helper when I was on break from school. Teaching is truly my calling. I am an avid traveler and have been to 13 countries... so far! I am working on trying to visit all 7 continents. I would also love to visit all 50 states... I have 15 down. I am an adventurous food partaker. I have tried a native dish in every country I have visited, from Haggis (sheep innards) to Cuy (guinea pig). My most recent trip was to Peru. We were able to see Machu Picchu, ruins, Cusco, salt flats, ruins, Lima. beaches, ruins, Nazca Lines, churches, Rainbow Mountains... oh yea and ruins! It was so amazing. We also went to Tahoe, Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Los Angeles... and so many more adventures in 2017-2018. We also love hiking with our two pups. We try and get out to explore the beautiful local hiking trails. Our dogs favorite trails are up around Auburn, especially Hidden Falls. If you have not gotten out lately, I strongly encourage you to check out your local hiking areas. You won't regret the relaxing, inspiring experience. |
